Join us on Sunday, March 13, 2022 at 2:00pm Central for a generative workshop with featured poet Allison Blevins.

Redefining Ekphrasis:

What do reality tv, abstract paintings, and your old mixtapes have in common?

In this workshop, we will read and discuss both traditional and modern examples of ekphrastic writing. Attendees will have the opportunity to practice several types of ekphrastic writing and will leave the workshop with concrete examples of how to utilize ekphrasis to generate work.

ACCESS NOTES: The workshop will take place virtually via Zoom with Zoom auto captions. An ASL interpreter will be present. Access copies of workshop materials will be made available via Google Docs. Our Access Statement will be read before we begin.

She is also the author of the chapbooks Susurration (Blue Lyra Press, 2019), Letters to Joan (Lithic Press, 2019), and A Season for Speaking (Seven Kitchens Press, 2019), part of the Robin Becker Series. Chorus for the Kill (Seven Kitchens Press), her collaborative chapbook, is forthcoming in 2022.
